1. SABE Kansas City (KC) 2010:
SABE KC 2010 will be held September 23rd through the 26th at the "Westin-Crown Center" in Kansas City, Missouri. This year's conference will be SABE's 10th Annual Self Advocacy Conference.
The theme is "Jazz It Up: Celebrating 20 Years of Self Advocates Being Empowered" which marks the anniversary of the ADA and acknowledges the last twenty years of the self advocacy movement in the United States!

2. Pepsi Refresh Project:Help the Alabama Resource Center (ARC) win a $250,000.00 grant for a new building! We entered into the "Pepsi Refresh Project" contest to win a grant that will allow us to build a new recycling facility and provide jobs for - but not limited to people with intellectual disabilities.

3. State Conference Pictures:
Where are YOUR pictures?? We have last year's State Conference, Space City & Tuscumbia chapter pictures available, so send us yours too!! Just click on the "Pictures" icon above-left and then go to the bottom of the "Pictures Page" where you can chose which ones you want to see, and then click on that! When you get to the pictures all stacked together, click on the "Slideshow" icon under gtheo65, and the pictures will scroll every 7 seconds.
4. State Conference Board appointments:
At the last State Conference we only elected a president, Jeff Ridgeway. The membership voted to allow a committee of Self-Advocacy leaders chaired by Greg Mitchell, past President to review nominees from among the new board members (Chapter presidents), and appoint a Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Sergeant at arms. That committee members are; Greg Mitchell, George Neal, Marc McClellan, Eloise Woods, and Danny Grant.
